Vortex Market Registration & Setup Guide

Complete step-by-step guide to registering on Vortex Market and configuring security settings.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Access Vortex Market

  1. Launch Tor Browser
  2. Visit verified .onion link from our mirrors page
  3. Bookmark the working mirror
  4. ⚠️ Verify URL matches exactly (beware phishing clones)

Step 2: Create Account

  1. Click "Register" or "Sign Up"
  2. Username: Choose unique, random name
    • ❌ Don't reuse from other sites
    • ✅ Example: shadow7392, crypto_user_84
  3. Password: Generate strong password (20+ chars)
    • Use KeePassXC or similar password manager
    • Example: mK9$pL2@wN8#vR4!
  4. PIN: 6-digit PIN for withdrawals
  5. Solve CAPTCHA
  6. Click "Create Account"

Step 3: Add PGP Public Key

  1. Navigate to Settings → Security
  2. Paste your PGP public key (see PGP guide)
  3. Save changes
  4. ✅ PGP is now mandatory for addresses

Step 4: Enable 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)

Option A: TOTP (Google Authenticator)

  1. Install Authy or Google Authenticator app
  2. Scan QR code shown on Vortex
  3. Enter 6-digit code to verify
  4. Save backup codes (write on paper)

Option B: PGP 2FA (More Secure)

  1. Enable PGP 2FA in settings
  2. Market sends encrypted challenge
  3. Decrypt with your PGP key
  4. Enter decrypted code

Step 7: Deposit Cryptocurrency

  1. Go to Wallet → Deposit
  2. Select cryptocurrency (XMR recommended)
  3. Copy deposit address
  4. Send from your wallet (see Monero guide)
  5. Wait for confirmations (10 blocks for XMR)
  6. Balance updates automatically

Security After Registration

⚠️ CRITICAL RULES:
  • Never share login credentials
  • Log out after each session
  • Verify URL before login (phishing!)
  • Don't leave large amounts in market wallet
  • Change password every 3-6 months
